Camping 2015

We wanted to squeeze in a camping trip with our friends before the rainy season set in. . . . .

As we drove to the camp-ground with wind-shield wipers at maximum speed . . . . .
let's just say I was on the phone trying to formulate a local option for a, DRY, plan B.
But somehow, we ended up timing it just right.  Pulling into the campground just as the rain died down.

We went camping near Sol Duc Hot Springs.  If you ask any of the kids to tell you about the place, they will tell you that the swimming pool was stinky.  But that's kind of just part of mother nature's equation when it comes to natural hot springs.  Stinky or no, these 5 kids still enjoyed their time at the pool.

After spending the morning at the pool, we took a hike in the afternoon.  The kids were all good troopers.  Even though everyone was a little tired, we managed to make it to our destination.

On the way back to camp we saw this . . . rock? . . . root? . . . petrified old tortoise? . . .

This is E. Mae's absolute favortie part about camping.  Over the course of our1 day 2 night camping excursion, she built this:

But back to reality we must go.  :(
