Pioneer Farm Museum
We got our tickets for the tour, and decided the best thing to do would be for everyone to take a bathroom break before we got started. We ALL began to doubt if that really was the "best" thing to do. Ugg. I will spare you and not describe the experience any further.
As part of the tour, you spent some time inside a cabin and got to help with the daily chores. The part that made it the most real for me was the lighting. No artificial electric lights. Just the light that came in from the door way, few small windows, and an oil lamp. It would be a really dark way to spend your day. (It also made for some darker pictures.)
The kids all really enjoyed the visit to the barn. They enjoyed it so much, we ran out of time and didn't get to see the blacksmith shop or the wood carving shed.
Finished off our pioneer experience with a horse drawn wagon ride.
After our pioneer tour, we went on the Ohop Indian tour as well.
Finished off our visit to the pioneer farm by checking out the one room school house.
It was a really nice day and a really fun memory to add to our summer.
On our way back to the modern world we stopped off for a very modern treat. My girls and I's first visit to a Crispy Cream.
